What better place to explore Italian cuisine than between Lido di Jesolo & Venice? Our school trips can combine visits to a local cheese factory, agriturismo, and/or a pasticerria with the added bonus of exploring the stunning islands of Venice – offering a well-rounded experience for student groups.

Because our itinerary combines plenty of food inspired activities with a good dose of culture, architecture, and history, not only will your group return inspired by the local cuisine, but they will also come home having discovered one of the most unique and famous cities in the world.

Cheese Factory

Visit an Italian cheese factory and treat your students to a lesson on the intricacies of the dairy industry and how this popular delicacy is made. With samples readily available, groups will leave with the first-hand knowledge of why Italian cheese is so popular, and with an understanding of the end-to-end process of food production.

Pasticerria delle Rose

Located just a ten-minute walk from Hotel da Bepi, this local pasticceria offers school groups the opportunity to visit an authentic Italian bakery, where they'll see first-hand how professionals decorate cakes. After the demonstration, students will be able to take away a sweet treat for dessert in the evening.

Afternoon in Treviso

Sitting on two converging rivers, the city of Treviso is brimming with beautiful canals and bridges, giving it a similar feel to nearby Venice. It’s a great place to stroll around and unwind, exploring the beautiful architecture, as well as the local shops and markets.

Biscuit Making and Lunch – Agriturismo Lunardelli

Enjoy a food workshop in an authentic agriturismo (homestay farm) on this unique excursion, where groups will visit Agriturismo Lunardelli – a family run business and small wine producer. On arrival, your group will be met and given history about the vineyard and the family, before taking part in a biscuit making session followed by a delicious lunch.

Island Cruise to Murano & Burano

On this experience-filled island cruise, students can take part in a glass blowing demonstration at a local glass factory at Murano, explore the colourful streets of Burano and visit Torcello’s beautiful Church of Santa Maria Assunta – famous for its Byzantine Mosaics.

St Marks Square

Once called ‘the drawing room of the world’ by French dramatist Musset, St. Mark's Square (Piazza San Marco) has been the centre of religious and political life in the Venetian republic for almost an entire millennium. An excellent spot for students to absorb Venice’s social culture, the square also serves as a great central meeting place between museum visitsm cafe stops and souvenir shopping.

St Mark's Basilica

Set in the heart of Venice, Basilica di San Marco is a monument made unique by both its wealth of history and the magnificence of its façade and interior. Its distinguishing Byzantine character appears particularly on the great mosaics illustrating St. Marco's tales, as well as the scenes of the Old and New Testament. Visits to the Basilica di San Marco last approximately 10 minutes, and visitors are kindly requested to respect the sacred nature of the place. Please ensure appropriate clothing is worn for the visit.

Museums of St Mark's Square

St. Mark's Square is dominated by four museums: the Doge's Palace, Museo Correr, Museo Archeologico Nazionale (Archaeological Museum), and the Monumental Rooms of the Biblioteca Marciana. Students can explore Venice’s regional heritage here, and uncover treasures from the Gothic, Renaissance, Mannerist, Greek and Roman periods in the city.

Doge's Palace Venice

Students can explore the Gothic-style Doge’s Palace and Bridge of Sighs – two of the most photographed sights in Venice – on this incredible excursion. The former residence of the Doge of Venice, the supreme authority of the Venetian Republic, the palace houses a huge historical collection where students can learn more about the Renaissance period in Italy.
