School ski trips to Voss

Located 100 kilometres from beautiful Bergen, Voss is a great choice for beginners with long open easy slopes, and it offers great terrain for intermediate skiers too. Skiing runs in deep in Norwegian culture, and the welcoming locals are happy to share their enthusiasm for the sport, so expect a friendly welcome. It is possible to ski from early December until late April here, and whilst the highest accessible point is only 964m, because Norway is a high latitude resort, it's snowsure thoughout the opening period. Voss town is located in the valley, and the ski area is accessed via Voss Gondol in less than 10 minutes. When you arrive at Hangurstoppen at the top of the gondola, you’ll also find ski rental and ski school, not to mention amazing views!

Features

Whilst small versus resorts in some other destinations, Voss is Western Norway’s largest ski resort and offers 40 km of alpine slopes (not to mention 18 km of cross-country trails), which the locals love! Cross country skiing is a completely different experience and well worth trying if you’re up to the challenge. Voss has 24 slopes: 9 green, 10 blue, 3 red and 2 black, served by 11 lifts, including 1 gondola which is the main route up to the slopes from Voss town.

Like many Norwegian ski resorts, you’ll find the slopes quiet during the week (Monday to Friday) outside of Norwegian school holidays, as many of the locals only visit for weekends. Voss is a great resort for beginners, with 3 dedicated beginner areas and long, wide pistes. And there are more challenging slopes for intermediate skiers looking to improve their technique. Voss is known for its night skiing, with 11km of illuminated trains available Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
