What sets skiing in Norway apart from anywhere else?
Spectacular scenery and cultural immersion
Norway’s unique blend of mountainous terrains and deep fjords creates a breathtaking backdrop for skiing. In addition, school groups will have the chance to immerse themselves in Scandinavian culture, with visits to historic towns, world-renowned fjords and the opportunity to learn about Viking heritage. Though, you can be sure that all the mountain staff will still speak excellent English.
Smaller crowds, more time on the slopes
Norwegian ski resorts enjoy fewer crowds compared to more well-known ski regions, offering students more time on the slopes and less time waiting in line – ensuring maximum practice and improvement. Slopes are especially quiet mid-week, so for maximum convenience we recommend that schools enjoy a Sunday-Friday break, avoiding the busier weekend slopes.
World-class cross-country skiing
Norway is the birthplace of skiing, and it’s often said that Norwegians are born with skis on their feet! As a result, many Norwegians favour more physically testing cross-country skiing; the country’s resorts reflect this, with some of the best facilities in the world for students looking to experience this Olympic sport. It’s a fantastic opportunity to introduce students to a sport that tests endurance, balance, and teamwork.
Long ski season with reliable snowfall
Norway’s northern location guarantees a long ski season with consistent, reliable snowfall – resulting in some of the most snow-sure conditions in Europe.
