Excursions

La Rosaleda Stadium

Relive some of Malaga FC’s finest moments on a tour of this famous football stadium, which offers pioneering social, cultural, sporting and educational opportunities across Andalucia. On your visit, groups will be shown the most symbolic parts of the stadium, from the museum and the pitch, to the VIP area and Presidential box.

Malagueta Beach

Perfect for relaxing and games, we highly recommend student groups spend an hour or so at Malagueta Beach on the Malaga coast. As well as swimming and leisure activities, school groups can take a picture with the “Malagueta” letter sculpture to commemorate an unforgettable trip.

Parque de Malaga

One of the most beautiful sights in Malaga, this 33-hectare green space has been designed as a complete landscape with curved lines that frame and define its islands. Between the park’s botanical gardens and fountains, students can browse several kiosks and stands, and seek out the garden’s numerous statues – many of which are dedicated to illustrious figures from Malaga.

Waterpark

Located just outside the port town of Algeciras – a 20-minute drive from Gibraltar – is Bahia Park – a perfect excursion to cool off in the southern Europe summer heat. From the exciting ‘kamikaze’ and ‘black hole’ slides to the largest jacuzzi in Andalucia, there’s plenty of opportunity for your students to relax on a trip here.

Castilo Gibralfaro

Sitting high on a hill overlooking the city, the magnificent Castle of Gibralfaro dates from the 10th century. The castle offers an excellent setting to teach students about Spain’s rich history as the Caliphate of Cordoba, and how customs under Arabic rule differed from today. Gibralfaro is also the site of the famous three-month siege by Catholic monarchs – the first conflict in which gunpowder was used by both sides.

Alcazaba Fortress

The best preserved alcazaba in Spain, this incredible fortress was built during the period of Arabic rule in Spain and the Hammudid dynasty of the early 11th century. During your visit, your students can discover the ruins of the connecting Castle of Gibralfaro, as well as the remnants of a Roman theatre which dates back even further to the 1st century BC.
