Set beside a magical frozen lake and surrounded by frosted peaks, this historic town is rated highly by our school groups for its stunning location and spectacular ski terrain. Here, beginners can enjoy several wide, perfectly-groomed pistes, while those seeking a little more adventure will have their ambitious streak satisfied by the 70% steep “Trass” run – all while overlooking the resort’s incredible vistas. One of our favourite features of this lift pass area is that it includes the neighbouring resorts of Kaprun and Saalbach-Hinterglemm, which offer a great alternative ski day. After your time on the slopes is up, our groups love the buzz of the 13th-century town centre, where you can enjoy an array of energetic activities. Worn out? No problem – we’ll take you to the local ‘konditorei’ for hot chocolate and cakes.

Features

It’s straight to the Schüttdorf nursery slopes at the AreitXpress for beginners to learn the basics at Zell Am See, before trying out the higher altitude blues from the second day. Meanwhile, intermediates in your group can get into the swing of things on the wide runs at the top of the mountain, before tackling the ridge-line reds.

Towards the end of the week, students can challenge themselves on thrilling blacks, which give breath-taking views of the lake beneath.
