Excursions
Champs-Elysees
Running between the Place de la Concorde in the east and the Place Charles de Gaulle and Arc de Triomphe in the west, the Avenue des Champs-Élysées fills almost two kilometres with theatres, cafes and luxury shopping – with everything from Louis Vuitton to Zara to Ladurée macarons. Commonly regarded as the "most beautiful avenue in the world", the avenue is a must-visit for souvenir shopping and dining on your school trip to Paris.
Arc de Triomphe
One of Paris’ most famous landmarks, the Arc de Triomphe is a magnificent monument built to commemorate Napoléon’s victory at Austerlitz. As well as honouring those who fought in the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars, the arch stands atop the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from the First World War.
River Cruise
There’s no better way to see Paris than onboard a river cruise along the River Seine. See the city’s finest monuments from Notre Dame to the Grand Palais as you teach your group about each landmark’s history and tales from its surrounding streets. We can’t wait to show you Paris from the water – this excursion is definitely an Equity favourite.
Eiffel Tower & Trocadero at Leisure
Visit the site of Paris's most famous landmark and the symbol of France – the Eiffel Tower. Built in 1889 by Gustave Eiffel, this engineering masterpiece dazzles at night, rightly earning its place at the centre of the ‘City of Lights’. We also recommend taking some time to explore the nearby Trocadero Gardens and its famous Fountain of Warsaw.
National Museum of Natural History
Dating back almost 400 years, the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle began as a royal garden of medicinal plants. Four centuries later, and its collection has grown exponentially; it’s now divided between four galleries covering paleontology, botany, mineralogy and evolution. A popular option for STEM groups, this excursion offers a huge variety of learning opportunities.
Cite des Sciences
The biggest science museum in Europe, this is a fantastic place to spend a day with your students. The museum is brimming with interactive learning opportunities, covering themes from the body and communication to water games, the garden and the factory. There’s also a planetarium, a submarine and an IMAX theatre to maximise excitement within your group.
Stade de France Tour
A world-class sport and event venue, the Stade de France is the national stadium of France and the training grounds for both the French rugby and football teams. Take your students on a guided backstage tour, where they’ll receive a unique experience walking in the footsteps of some of the country’s finest athletes such as Zinedine Zidane and Thierry Henry.
Fragonard Perfumery
Offering students a unique olfactory journey in the very heart of Paris, the historic location of Théâtre-Musée des Capucines flows with the spirit and character that classic perfumer Fragonard wanted to preserve. Incredibly, the museum is home to a collection of ancient artifacts, archives and perfume bottles that illustrate 3,000 years of perfume making.
Palais Decouverte
With permanent exhibits for mathematics, physics, astronomy, chemistry, geology and biography, the Palais Decouverte covers several scientific curriculum objectives under one roof, and is a must-visit for science-focused school trips to Paris. Students can engage with interactive experiments, visit the circular “pi room” and sit inside a Zeiss planetarium at the museum – all activities we know they’ll love.
Centre Pompidou
Located in one of the oldest quarters of Paris, this towering modern structure of pipes and staircases houses a number of exhibitions, as well as the Musée National d'Art Moderne – the national museum for modern art in France. Visiting the Pompidou Centre is free for school groups, and is an excellent option for expanding their knowledge of contemporary art.
Parc Asterix
Based on France’s favourite comic characters, Parc Asterix is located 35 kilometres north-east of Paris, and is ideal for groups looking for a quieter theme park experience. It has 47 attractions, shows and a character village, spread out across themed zones such as the Vikings, Egypt, Ancient Greece, Gaul & The Roman Empire – offering a fun and educational experience for all.
