Excursions

Visit to Mont Orgueil Castle
Mont Orgueil Castle, or Gorey Castle as it was first known, has cast its imposing shadow over the beautiful fishing port of Gorey for more than 800 years. One of the finest examples of a medieval fortress in existence, it is also a symbol of Jersey’s national identity and independent character.

Visit to War Tunnels
Occupied by German forces during the Second World War, Jersey has a fascinating story that’s waiting to be told in these war tunnels, which were dug by slave workers across Europe. We’ve seen students left in astonishment after viewing the tunnels’ underground collection, which features thought provoking exhibits that tell of Jersey’s occupation from resistance, through to starvation, then eventual liberation.

Beach Day - St Brelade's Bay
Consistently voted one of the UK’s best beaches, this south-facing Jersey beach is an excellent option for students to relax amid an otherwise packed schedule of educational excursions. Home to soft, golden sand and palm trees, the beach benefits from sun for most of the day as well as a host of sand and watersports; from ‘blokarting’ and coasteering to kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding, we can guarantee they’ll have fun.

Street Markets Visit
A source of pride for many residents on the island, the Central and Beresford Street Markets are an integral part of Jersey’s heritage, having served the community for over 200 years. Lively, vibrant and aromatic, the markets are both home to a wide range of local produce, crafts, goods and services – which we know students will love to explore.

Bushcraft
Students can get in touch with nature during a bushcraft session in Jersey, where they’ll forage for their own edible plants and medicines, build a shelter with minimal equipment and even attempt fire lighting using different methods. A truly unique experience, we’ve seen school groups immerse themselves in this wild taste of Jersey.
