With the 2024 School Travel Awards having officially concluded, we're excited to celebrate the best in educational travel – as chosen by the readers of School Travel Organiser.

Held on Friday, 29th November, at the prestigious Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, the ceremony showcased the most inspiring destinations, companies, and individuals dedicated to enriching the learning experiences of young people.

Below, we highlight this year’s outstanding winners and finalists across a range of categories, showcasing their incredible contributions to the world of school travel.

 

Best Theatre Production for Schools

Winner: Wicked

This enchanting production captivates audiences with its powerful storyline, theatrics and talent, surpassing nominees such as Matilda The Musical and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

 

Best UK Attraction

Winner: Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter

An unforgettable experience blending cinematic magic with hands-on learning, this attraction continues to be a firm favourite for schools.

 



Best International Destination or Attraction

Winner: Disneyland Paris, France

Disneyland Paris enchants students with its unique blend of cultural learning and fun. In the awards, it beat contenders like CERN, Switzerland, and Washington DC, USA. This award was sponsored by Equity.

 

Best Provision for SEND

Winner: Science Museum, London

This inaugural award went to the Science Museum, celebrated for its accessibility and innovative programmes for students with special educational needs and disabilities.

 

Best Museum Visit

Winner: Imperial War Museum, London

Recognised for its compelling exhibits and cross-curricular relevance, the Imperial War Museum claimed the winner's spot for this prestigious category.

 



Best Venue for English Learning

Winner: Shakespeare’s Globe

The Globe Theatre continues to inspire students with its live performances and workshops rooted in the Bard’s timeless works.

  • ‘My Best School Trip’ Award: Carisbrooke College (IWEF), Isle of Wight – Year 10/11 trip to Vietnam
