OUR
SUMMARY
An ultra convenient ski resort with superb progression
and an excellent ski school. Safe and easy to supervise
We
have featured Piancavallo for many years with great
success. The planners chose the perfect setting
for this brilliant little resort, which is typically
Italian even though purpose built. Situated in its
own sunny, sheltered bowl and with the security
of powerful snow making, Piancavallo was amongst
the first resorts to offer a snow guarantee. The
lift system is particularly well planned and beginners
can enjoy a wide area and changing views. Ski progression
is notably good, it's really convenient and the
ski school is excellent.
Piancavallo has hosted World Cup championships and
although small is a serious skier's resort with
a lot more skiing than you may think from the map!
Many of the runs, officially measured only once,
have 2 or 3 alternative routes.
Our school groups are usually beginners and early
intermediates and Piancavallo suits them perfectly.
The pistes fan out from the village centre and provide
a good mix of long, easy runs and more challenging
intermediate skiing which connects well. Everybody,
even beginners, are able to ski back to resort,
so they can't get lost, and it's a satisfying end
to the day.
