OUR
SUMMARY
A huge ski area with simple, convenient high
value hotels and doorstep skiing
La Toussiure and Le Corbier form part of the
same system, which has recently been extended to
include St Sorlin D'Arves pushing up the mileage
to a whopping 310kms! Whereas Le Corbier has rolling,
undulating terrain above the trees runs, La Toussiure
has more trees and a bit more challenge. Snowfall
is good over all the areas but La Toussiure faces
north and the quality of the snow is often the best
on the system. Le Corbier links by piste via an
easy red, or by ski bus in 5mins. The ski area can
now hold its own with some of the household-name
resorts with much bigger price tags. Beginners have
plenty of easy slopes but La Toussiure has mostly
intermediate skiing and a huge bowl. Advanced skiers
will love the huge mileage and the variety.
La Toussiure village is totally purpose-built, like
Le Corbier, and is just as convenient. It's much
bigger though and has a longer ski pedigree. The
village is not unattractive for a purpose-built
resort, and has a warm "feel". There's
a gallery of shops and cafés conveniently
laid out and you can ski right up to the terrace.
