OUR SUMMARY
" A meticulously kept ski area with a superb lift system and powerful snow-making. Wonderful scenery, big, friendly village with lots going on."

Everyone who skis here, whatever their standard, however much piste they are used to bashing, comes back with rave reports. Andalo has a medium sized ski area of superb quality, and some good judges rate it higher than many household-name resorts costing considerably more. The piste map does not really do it justice. There is fantastic variety and the lift system is first class; modern, swift and well organised. The lift company continually invest and the snowmaking and grooming rank with with the best in the Dolomites, and 2 new chair lifts are planned for 2004/5.
Beginners have excellent nursery areas both in the village and at the mid station, where the snow is always good, but for developing skiers, this system really comes into its own.

The full spectrum of intermediates are catered for in abundance. There's plenty of excitement and spectacle on the reds and blues which have no flat spots or unpleasant surprises. Advanced skiers have fabulous off-piste and some mogul runs on the reds at the top. A new black run will be open this season.
Most of these Dolomite resorts boast spectacular views and Andalo is one of the best with its characteristic needles, jagged ridges and snow-dusted bluffs. Our groups stay in Molveno, an attractive and well-equipped village with lots of character and a spectacular setting overlooking a valley and lake. The skiing is only 5 mins by coach.

Both Molveno and Andalo are large, friendly villages, popular in summer and winter and with plenty of character. There's an abundance of shops, bars and restaurants and a fine sports complex. This list covers both villages:
sports centre (ice skating, swimming pool, arcade, karaoke, disco) gymnasium solarium nightclub video games room Italian cinema weekly torchlit descents 6 indoor tennis courts sleigh rides tobogganing paragliding doctor pharmacy bank post office tourist office public bus to Andalor
