• Great value ski pass
• Intermediate playground
• Huge ski area

This increasingly popular ski area is now one of the largest in Austria and covers as much as 350kms. The main ski areas are all vast and the ski bus service is top notch. There's an awe-inspiring range and variety of skiing. It's a great destination by coach because you can enter the system at a different point every day after planning the programme with the ski school. The flying Mozart gondola near Flachau and the Grafenberg gondola in Wagrain are good starting points. We also recommend Alpendorf which gives easy access to the Kreistenalm, an ideal starting point for school groups.

This area has great charm and character. All the traditional Austrian virtues are in place and it seems inevitable that the Sportwelt Amade will shortly become as popular as any ski area in Europe..

All the villages of the Sportwelt Amade are worth visiting in your coach and within easy range of both our hotels are:
sleigh rides
swimming
bowling
skating
curling
many bars and pubs, occasionally with live music.

GASTHOF ZUR GOLDENEN STIEGE (Cap 50)
One of the best hotels in brochure
All rooms with private facilities
Austrian cookery at it's best!
This is a superb, traditional Gasthof with a very high degree of comfort and dècor. It's undoubtedly one of the best hotels in our brochure and worth every penny! You are paying for the certainty of a wonderful stay. The Goldene Stiege has 3 storeys painted with traditional murals and facing directly into the middle of Kuchl, which is a very pretty village, typical of Salzburgerland. 20yds away are church, shops, banks and cafès.

There's a heated indoor swimming pool only a minute's walk, and spectacular mountain views all around. There's another indoor swimming pool a few minutes coach ride where Equity groups have a low entrance of only AS30 (£1.50) per person. The nearest skiing is at Werfenweng (15-20 mins) or Alpendorf on the Sportwelt Amade (20-25 mins).
The public areas are gorgeously traditional, with wood panels and Austrian artefacts. Schools can use the dining room after dinner. All the bedrooms have ensuite facilities and TV. The food is very good, and you will sample traditional Austrian cookery at its best.
