The Golden Triangle India

The Golden Triangle, encompassing Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, offers visitors the chance to see some of India's most beautiful buildings such as the Red Fort and the Qutab Minar in Delhi, the City Palace and the Amber Fort at Jaipur and the magnificent Taj Mahal in Agra. Methods of transport include not only air-conditioned coach and train but also an elephant ride and a rickshaw! Our extended tour includes visits to the fabulous bird sanctuary at Bharatpur and the chance to see a tiger at the wild life sanctuary at Sawai Madhopur. Whichever tour you take, the sights, sounds and scents of India will provide memories that last long after your return home.

Sample Itinerary - INDIA

6 days by AIR - Escorted Golden Triangle Tour
Two nights Delhi, one night Agra & two nights Jaipur.
Day 1
Fly from London to Delhi. Arrive late evening and transfer to your hotel for overnight accommodation.
Day 2
Mid morning depart for City sightseeing tour of Old Delhi including the Red Fort, once the most opulent fort of the Mughal Empire, the Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in the world, Chandani Chowk, a busy commercial centre and the Raj Ghat, the location of Mahatma Gandhi's cremation. In the afternoon visit New Delhi, the city built by the British with its many monuments and buildings designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. Visit the India Gate, Humayun's Tomb, Qutab Minar, and drive past the Parliament and Presidential House. In the evening, depart by coach for Agra, 4 hours drive approx. and check in to your hotel.
Day 3
Morning visit to the "Taj Mahal", to view the marble wonder by the light of the rising sun, followed by a city sightseeing tour of Agra including Agra Fort and Itmad-Ud-Daulah Tomb. In the afternoon, depart by coach for Jaipur, 4 hours drive approx. En route visit Fatehpur Sikri, Emperor Akbar's deserted capital, built in 1571 and unchanged for over 400 years. Arrive Jaipur and check in to your hotel.
Day 4
Morning tour of the Pink city including the City Palace and Jantar-Mantar Observatory. In the afternoon, visit to a nearby village, Sanganer, famous for its hand-made paper. Visit a factory to view the interesting process and a textile factory to see 'block printing' on fabric. If time permits see the famous 'Blue Pottery' of Rajasthan. Visit a Temple to witness the Hindu priests performing the religious ceremony "Aarti" followed by a walk around the local bazaar to experience the lifestyle of the local people.
Day 5
Morning tour of the Amber Fort visiting the "Palace of the Winds" en route. The ascent to the Fort is by elephant! In the afternoon, depart by coach to Delhi, 4 hours drive approx. and check in to your hotel for overnight accommodation.
Day 6
Early morning transfer to the airport for return flight to London. Please not
