Centre Bol Vert
Purpose built for groups of young people, the Centre Bol Vert has a wealth of facilities to offer, including an indoor swimming
pool, a cinema, 3 restaurants, a games room, squash court, gymnasium and several classrooms, all in the centre of the small community of Trelon..
The centre has been built around an the old glass factory and the foundry is now a museum, where students can see glass being blown and try their hand at engraving.
Nord-pas de Calais France
This centre is in the heart of the Avesnois region in the department of Nord, just 5 kilometers from the Belgian border. Inland from the Opal Coast, the area is away from the usual tourist spots and little English is spoken here. The rich natural resources of the area are reflected in the many museums and attractions showing the technology of today and yesteryear. Visitors should sample the regional Maroilles cheese and the traditional 'Flamiche' flan.
Trelon is a small village with a few shops and a bakery around the village square. Formerly the centre of a thriving textile industry, the Ecomusée gives a fascinating insight not only into the textile industry of bygone days, but also of social and cultural life during the late 19th and early 20th century. Excursions can be made into the Belgian Ardennes or to Brussels (2 hrs) or in France to Reims (2 hrs) or to Disneyland® Resort Paris (3 hrs).
Groups can visit the region of Haut-Artois in the Pas de Calais, which lies between Lille in the north and Arras in the south. A rich farmland area, not far from the Opal Coast and well placed to visit the World War I Battlefield sites of both the Somme and Ypres.
Sample Itinerary - FRANCE
Day 1
Depart school by coach for late morning Dover-Calais ferry crossing. Continue to your hotel for evening meal (first meal). Travelling time Calais to resort: 3 hours approx.
Days 2-3
We will arrange a programme of visits for you with free use of coach subject to driver's hours regulations.
Day 3
Travel to Calais with packed lunches for return journey. Optional stop at Hypermarket time permitting.
Day 4 Travel to Calais for return journey. Optional stop at Hypermarket time permitting.
Extra Day
