An every growing part of Equity is the Educational Tours Department.
These study tours are great value and include; language, cuisine and
history along with rugby and hockey tours.
All tours travel to a range of destinations and Equity recruit for
language speakers to rep these tours on an ad hoc basis throughout
the academic calendar. The tours last between 3 to 8 nights.
Main duties include:
- Accompanying the group throughout the tour acting as the 'face
of Equity'
- Liasing with the Party Leader regarding his/her requirements
- Ensuring pre-booked visits/fixtures run smoothly and to time
- Assisting the groups with interpreting
- Taking part in evening entertainments ie quizzes
What you can look for from Equity:
- A full briefing with the groups Tour Co-ordinator prior to travel.
Including details on the group, itinerary, travel arrangements etc
- Full board accommodation with the group
- Transport (return car hire/ferry or flights)
- Travel expenses ie petrol
- Medical Insurance
- Competitive salary
What Equity look for in you:
- Medical Insurance
- Fluency in a second language. Either French, Spanish, German and/or
Italian
- Full driving licence
- Personable and professional
- Able to think on your feet
- Previous experience of working within the travel industry or with
school children, whilst not essential, would be an asset.

As previously mentioned, the tours run on an ad hoc basis and are
therefore not full time positions. The tours are however, a great
way to gain a short insight to the repping world, give experience
at dealing with groups of children, use and help others with your
languages and of course, earn some extra income.
