Today, in 1826, Carlo Lorenzini, better known by his literary name Carlo Collodi, was born. He was famous for writing The Adventures of Pinocchio.
We all know Walt Disney’s animated version, but the original story was completed as a book in 1883 and is amongst the most translated and widely read books ever written.
Collodi is a village in Tuscany and Carlo took this name making it internationally renowned for its associations with the book.
